General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland (depending on local referral patterns). They also deal with diseases involving the skin, breast, soft tissue, trauma, Peripheral artery disease and hernias.

Appendicitis is inflammation of Appendix. It’s a sort of medical emergency which requires immediate surgery to remove the appendix. It’s a condition in which appendix becomes inflamed, swollen, infected which causes pain in lower right side of patient’s torso.

It’s a complicated pregnancy in which embryo gets attached outside the uterus. Typical signs and symptoms are abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Less than 50 % of affected women have both these symptoms. The pain can be sharp, dull or crampy.

The Surgery used to remove gallbladder is called cholecystectomy. The gallbladder is either removed through 5-8-inch-long incision, or a cut in patient’s abdomen. A less invasive way to remove the gallbladder is called Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.

It’s a surgery to remove patient’s gallbladder with help of incision in their abdomen. It’s a very safe method and effective ones for treating symptomatic gallstones.

This specifically occurs when the portion of intestine protrudes through the weakness in the abdominal muscles along the wall of the inguinal canal. Symptoms are present in 66% of affected people. This includes pain, or discomfort especially with coughing, exercise or bowel movements.

Its benign smooth muscle tumors of the uterus. They often don’t cause any pain or heavy periods. While some women face it in the form of heavy pain and heavy periods. At times it creates a push on a bladder causing a frequent need to urinate.

Piles are commonly caused by straining while having bowel movement, pregnancy, colon cancer, constipation or chronic diarrhea. Symptoms include rectal bleeding, rectal pain, itching and swelling.

It is a chronic abnormal communication between the  epithelialised  surface of the anal canal and usually the perianal skin. Anal fistulae per se do not generally harm, but can be very painful, and can be irritating because of the drainage of pus (it is also possible for formed stools to be passed through the fistula)

An anal fissure is a break or tear in the skin of the anal canal. Anal fissures may be noticed by bright red anal bleeding on toilet paper and undergarments, or sometimes in the toilet. If acute they are painful after defecation,  but with chronic fissures, pain intensity often reduces.
